Surprise! Hulu’s Subscription Service On XBOX First

Going back as far as 8 months ago we have been hearing rumors about a Hulu subscription plan headed our way. But who would have guessed the first iteration of such a service would be coming via Xbox Live? GearLive broke the story last night that a “reliable source” has indicated that Microsoft will announce at E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo hosted by the Entertainment Software Association) some sort of subscription model similar to how Xbox Live users are able to subscribe to Netflix content through their systems.

Research: Do You Know Your Broadband Speed?

The FCC has conducted a recent survey on consumer broadband experience of which 80% of those surveyed did not know what speed Internet they were subscribed. The FCC’s Consumer Task Force will be following up with actual speed tests to determine if actual speeds are equivalent to the advertised speeds consumer are sold on.

Research: Facebook Presses “Reset Button” On Privacy Features

Harris reports that Facebook has announced a more simple, top-level system of handling privacy over user information and how that information is shared with applications and third parties. These privacy controls will remain consistent from this point forward even if Facebook rolls out further updates.

FCC On Route For Regulation “Over Everything”?

When FCC Chairman Genachowski shared his “third way” of “light touch” regulation back on the 6th of May, he promised that,

“The Commission would take steps to give providers and their investors confidence and certainty that this renunciation of regulatory overreach will not unravel.”
