The OC Business Journal has stated that Uniloc is once again after several other big tech names after taking Microsoft to court last year.  The company owns the patent on security software that is used to lock programs installed on a specific computer to that computer.  The security software at that point disallows the program to be copied to any other computer.

Sony Corp., Activision Blizzard, and McAfee, Inc. are being sought in a suit that claims the companies are illegally using the Uniloc software.  Though the report by Lyster indicates that the Microsoft suit was overturned and is in the appeals process.  And based on this it is not clear whether or not the company will have a strong case against their new targets.

A description of the Uniloc patent process can be found here.  The report on the suit can be found here.
