In this policy brief, New America Foundation looks at six countries that it feels implemented successful national broadband strategies in the last decade. The countries examined include: Japan, South Korea, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Taiwan.
Programs that were deemed successful achieved or succeeded goals found in the chart below:
New America Foundation contends that for broadband to improve in the United States, the National Broadband Plan that is due in February of 2010 as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 must implement strategies similar to the short and long term goals found in the six countries reviewed in their policy brief.
